Sisters and Brothers,

Two ATU Local 113 members that tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) are safely back at work. While they no longer pose a risk, we wanted to let our members know as soon as we were made aware. ATU Local 113 was only informed of these positive cases today.

Both members have fully recovered and are no longer contagious. I spoke to both members and expressed all ATU Local 113 members’ happiness that they have returned to work.

The first positive case was a streetcar operator at Leslie Barns. The member tested positive on October 14.

The second positive case was a bus operator from Arrow Road who was training for streetcar operation at Hillcrest Yard. Their last shift was on October 15.

These cases mark the 122nd and 123rd ATU Local 113 members who have tested positive for COVID-19. A total of 146 employees at the TTC have tested positive for COVID-19.

Please practice physical distancing as much as possible before, during and after your shifts – and stay home if you feel unwell. If you have been tested and are awaiting your results, please stay home and self-isolate.

In Solidarity,

Carlos Santos
President, ATU Local 113
