ATU Local 113 was informed that a TTC bus operator was assaulted at Wilson Station earlier today. The operator is in stable condition and is receiving treatment in hospital. The individual believed to be responsible is in police custody.
The operator has asked us to extend their sincere thanks to everyone who has reached out with messages of support, as well as to the coworkers and first responders who assisted during the incident.
No transit worker should have to face violence while doing their job. Our focus right now is supporting our member and wishing them a full and speedy recovery.
The police investigation is ongoing at this time.
