Frank Grimaldi, President of Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) Local 113, released the following statement in response to the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) Board’s decision to appoint Rick Leary as the TTC’s Chief Executive Officer.
“On behalf of the 11,000 public transit workers who move Toronto, ATU Local 113 congratulates Rick Leary on his appointment as TTC Chief Executive Officer. Our union looks forward to working with the new TTC CEO to resolve outstanding issues that are important to hardworking transit workers, such as health and safety, protecting wages and benefits, expanding service for riders and keeping all aspects of Toronto’s transit system in public hands.”
