TORONTO, ONTARIO – (September 14, 2018) – Fresh off his unprecedented attack on Toronto City Hall and Ontarians’ Charter rights, Ontario Premier Doug Ford has his sight set on uploading the TTC subway from Torontonians, which will break apart the TTC and harm service.

Public transit advocates, including Amalgamated Transit Union Local 113, are urging all Torontonians to fight back against Premier Ford’s reckless scheme.

To launch the grassroots campaign, ATU Local 113, which represents nearly 11,000 hardworking public transit workers in Toronto, launched a new video that warns against Premier Ford’s threat to public transit service.

“Premier Doug Ford’s reckless scheme to upload the TTC subway system from Torontonians will mean higher fares, worse service and less say for riders,” said Frank Grimaldi, President of ATU Local 113. “The TTC belongs to Torontonians – we built it, we paid for it and we own it. It’s time for Doug Ford to understand the TTC is not for sale!”

Torontonians can tell Premier Ford to stop the TTC subway upload by signing an online petition available here: https://wemovetoronto.ca/petition/
