Application Form – 2026

Applicants must complete the two-step process, in order to be considered for the Scholarship.

Eligibility

The John Lorimer Scholarship is available to the children, stepchildren, and legally adopted children of active and/or retired members in good standing of ATU Local 113. To be eligible for a scholarship, each applicant must:

  1. Be graduating from Grade 12 in 2026, and advancing to a post-secondary education program (University or College/Trade/Technical School)
  2. Be enrolled in a post-secondary education program and have not previously received a scholarship from Local 113.

Scholarship Amounts

Post-Secondary (University) Up to 38 scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded to eligible applicants based on the average of their six highest Grade 12 academic marks as recorded on their Ontario School Transcript issued by the Ministry of Education. Applicants must be attending a post-secondary university in September 2026.

Post-Secondary (College/Trade/Technical school) – Two scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded to eligible applicants based on the average of their six highest Grade 12 academic marks as recorded on their Ontario School Transcript issued by the Ministry of Education. Applicants must be attending a post-secondary college, trade, or technical school in September 2026.

Step 1: Application Submission

  • Complete the Online Application Form below
  • Submit a headshot photo in JPEG or PNG format (300 – 500KB) along with your application (this will be used for the winner’s announcement poster).

Applicants will receive an email confirmation upon successful submission of the application form.

Online applications must be submitted by the deadline of, Thursday, July 2, 2026 – 11:59 P.M. (EST)

Step 2: Transcript Submission

Applicants must email a PDF copy of their Ministry of Education – Ontario School Transcript to scholarships@atu113.net (no other forms of marks will be accepted i.e. report cards, screenshot of courses etc.). Please obtain your Ontario School Transcript at the end of the school year from your guidance counsellor.

Transcripts must be submitted by the deadline of Friday, July 31, 2026 – 11:59 P.M. (EST)

Applications and transcripts not received by the deadlines will be disqualified.
