As assaults against TTC workers become more common, ATU Local 113 demands that the TTC, City of Toronto and Mayor John Tory protect transit workers and defend our right to safe work. We need more resources allocated to the TTC to help deal with this disturbing rise in violence on transit, especially during the pandemic.
The fact that 1 to 2 TTC workers are assaulted on average each day in the City of Toronto is completely unacceptable. The time to protect transit workers is now!
We are still waiting for Mayor Tory’s response to our December 2020 letter demanding action to protect TTC workers.
